Finished cyberpunk phantom liberty which once again brought tears to my eyes
King of wands ending
Okay I have so much thoughts for the Tower ending. Either that or I've been in the cyberpunk subreddit so long that im thinking maybe my opinion is unpopular
So much of the consensus I've seen for this ending has been negative, and y'know what, valid! Because getting out of a two-year coma and finding yourself not only stripped off of your cyberware, which was the biggest advantage of your public standing in NC, but also having most of your relationships fade to nothing (besides Vik and Kerry, calling the others and hearing them being so dismissive of you felt devastating).
But seeing comments that they would rather let their V die than live but be a "normie" again? "Quiet life, or blaze of glory", what, just to end up as a name for a custom-made drink? In one bar?
The entirety of the game is spent in Night City, a city so detached from everywhere else, with its own fucked up politics and culture, that we're conditioned from the people we met that you're either a legend or you're nothing. But, is it really?
Like yes, losing your tech and your friends suck, that's an understatement. But it's not the end of the world. The entirety of the game takes place in less than a year at best. No matter the lifepath, if V managed to rebuild their life when Jackie first took them in, what makes anyone say that V can't rebuild their life again?
"Quiet life, or blaze of glory", that's just Night City propaganda, choom. There's glory in living the quiet life.
And maybe the reason I still haven't started Phantom Liberty with X-28 is cos I'm scared to face the Chimera with my very smol knife
What a perfectly normal and unassuming stock NPC. I'm sure he will have absolutely no narrative significance in the future.
"You want her? You'll have to go through me first"
