BBWgigs: EXWHITE (DE) live in Sofia | 17.05.2024

EXWHITE са добре познати в DIY музикалната сцена на Хале и сред самоиздаващите пънкове в цяла Германия. Групата е издала няколко касети, EP-та и LP-та, сред които касетата "Disco" за Phantom Records през 2019 г., и 12-инчовият мини албум "Estray", издаден от Turbo Discos през 2022 г. Записите на EXWHITE могат да се намерят в добре заредените магазини за плочи в източна и западна Германия, но като цяло бандата остава скрито бижу. "This Is Future" е първият им дългосвирещ албум на винил, който ще имаме възможност да чуем на живо и в София.

Музиката им е дръзка и мръсна, хаотична и шумна, с остри, гаражни китари и крещящи, понякога мелодични вокали. Подходящa за любители на гаражен рок, танцувален пост-пънк и мелодичен хардкор.

Dewaere – Slot Logic (Bigout / Phantom)

For awhile there it seemed like I was being bombarded with French acts that were all about reliving the heyday of noise-rock/post-hardcore, but it appears in recent years that has tailed off some. I place the blame pretty squarely on me, since activity around here has been minimal during that span and it's very likely I've just kind of lost track of things. Thus is my life. However, what we have here is a band that would have fit that bill oh so many years ago and squeezed in their debut LP Slot Logic sometime towards the very end of last year. While definitely following a pattern of sounds that many of you are familiar with, the combination of ingredients involved at least present a bit of an interesting experience. While Dewaere propel themselves through song after song of fidgety post-hardcore, the singer chooses to compliment it with some vocal theatrics...sometimes laced in reverb...and at their absolute over the top/aggressive almost sounds like he's channeling Mike Hard. It's also kind of cool to hear this being played with a tone/reverb laden feedback sound that screams death-rock/post-punk, but at the same time is definitely cruising down the Yank Crime highway. Got to hand it to them, they make it work and there a some solid cuts to be found on Slot Logic if given the chance. Dewaere – Budapest (stream) BUY IT!
