Just watched Backrooms and there are many thoughts I have in my head rnn

I won't bother stating the obvious here but I do have something I thought of while I was reading other people's views on the movie

Obviously major spoilers here btw↓

Ok SO I see a lot of posts about people taking the "you're just wired that way" literally. In my opinion it's important to take Mary's speech beforehand into account- before the sentence where she says that he's just wired that way she critiques him on how he never sees anything that happens as his fault. "It wasn't you, it was your wife, it wasn't you it was [whatever here]" and then at the end finally saying "it's not you, you're just wired that way". And he just latches onto that like he always has and I think that's the point. He isn't just wired that way he just wants that excuse again, playing into the whole repetition aspect of the backrooms. Yet again, it's not his fault, he's just wired that way. It gives him another excuse not to change.
