The next full #timelapse video will be the making of an #Elissa tab. Here is just a sneak peak. I am making the rear tab, in the back, that lay on top of the waterfall #drapery even more #elaborate than the other three. It's already a longer tab than the others and the back will benefit from something heavily #decorated amongst the plainer waterfall drapery. Decorative beading/belt-like element that will go over the front drapery.  It’s pretty elaborate, maybe not as elaborate as some Elissas but I think they overdo the “flying saucers” sometimes and are too huge.  I wanted to make it a little more understated, and also, try to save a little on time.   I’m about triple over my hours on this project but that happens a lot when I’ve never done a costume, and never really seen what the amount of hours goes into it.  I don’t skimp on detail but don’t go over the top either!  Beading can take soo long.  This took me anywhere from 3 to 5 hours, which is a lot, but I include bead locks / crimps every couple of beads to prevent accidents, and really think about the design. #elissa #phantomoftheopera #christinedaae #carlotta #victorian #lush #regal #glittering #beads #gems #sparkling #costume #costumes #theatre #stagecostumes #couture #couturecostumes #commissions #cosplay #potocosplay #poto #phantom #phantomcostumes #bespoke

Yet another sneak peek... The scarf/neckline area #fabric was #custom #embroidered along with all the peach #silk embroidery. These 4 inserts in the #bodice hem (2 on either side and 2 in the back) were one of the trickiest parts of the #costume. They don't look difficult - but they're like 3D gussets that fold in on themselves multiple times and throw linings and seams and changing flounce hem lengths in and it just gets strange. Side project: #Elissa inspired scarf. Just waiting on the end trimmings to come in the mail. Made with my custom-designed #Spoonflower #fabric! This will be for sale when finished although pricier than a normal scarf... Materials alone are $90-$100 for this project 😦 but the scarf is double sided and about 3 yards long WITHOUT trimmings on the ends!
