sat in bed at like 4 today and thought about the whole tradition of andrew drugging people when he finds them a threat
a lot of people figured it was out of character but honestly it’s pretty fitting. i just don’t think andrew’s justification of it is like most people have been saying—i honestly don’t think i’ve seen anyone bring this up but yk i’m not the all knowing.
andrew was put on drugs when he was 17 because people were anxious of the threat he’d be.
a year later andrew gave dan and matt (if i remember correctly? he tried renee too but he didn’t need to in the end) drugs to better decipher whether they’d be a threat to his people.
do we see? yes no maybe so?
do i think andrew had a right to put any of them on drugs? no.
do i think he had valid reasons to? yes, and he knew it was done to him. for years.
obviously andrew is treated very differently compared to neil and any of the monsters. to them, it makes sense that andrew is medicated—it’s supposed to make life safer for them.
andrew drugged people to get something out of them, get an idea of how much of a danger they’d be.
anyway, andrew is treated like a monster because he displays himself as one. i’d say it’s his doing—which it is—but really it’s just him hiding away in a little shell so that the only thing anyone else sees is that shell (hard. like a turtle.)
(none of that is correctly worded or in any way eloquent but idc i’m driving i’m not trying to be a poet rn.)
i could say more and i want to but i don’t have the words and i cannot crash my car again
