This is off brand for my blog, but maybe not too far off? The video was shot by a friend of mine who had the good fortune to be at the Newport Folk Festival today when Dolly Parton showed up as a surprise special guest and sang “I Will Always Love You” with Brandi Carlile. Watching the video, I thought, “Oh, it’s a soprano / mezzo duet, isn’t it.”

Good luck Captain I had to study it for A levels and I developed such a hatred for the spoilt brat idiots that were Heathcliff and Catherine. Basically I only liked the nanny character.

I think I remember hating... everybody. But I suspect the, like, examination of human flaws in their different forms may have been the point. So I’m just trying again to see if I can understand what Emily was aiming at, we’ll see...

What does the "etc." On Sarah's box refer to...?

Well I have a lot of CDs but only a few DVDs so I put all the DVDs together in one box along with the Sarah CDs. The DVDs include Sarah’s shows of course (Giulio Cesare, the two Hippolytes, A Night with Handel, the Liceu Poppea, etc etc) but also a few non-Sarah (Lully’s Armide with Stéphanie d’Oustrac and Les Arts Florissants, the LesArtsFlo Atys, the Glyndebourne Saul, The Giacomo Variations which I still haven’t watched yet, and a few others).
