I had vague plans to make one felt ornament a month in order to have a set of them by next christmas and that hasn't really happened. But this morning Sweet Bean made a rainbow kitty unicorn and I made a little progress on the fins of my rainbow trout
I also made this snowflake during book club but I don't like any of the sequining choices or the end result. I thought it made more sense to just finish it and make another than to undo it all, but... :/

This sick bleach shirt I made. Something to showcase my undying love for prehistoric cave art.
Some of the bleach burned thru the shirt bc this was my first time bleaching anything ever, but it kinda adds to it.

I adore this because even if the colours are off this is so clearly a black-crowned night heron based on vibes alone. Somebody saw that hunched little guy clambering around some branches one evening and went "well that's just delightful"
I don't think it's a heron, but here's more of the photo
The page is from Les Voeux du paon which is a chanson de geste "The Vows of the Peacock" which is a fun read. You can read an English translation here: https://oac.cdlib.org/view?docId=kt6p30157r;NAAN=13030&doc.view=frames&chunk.id=d0e343&toc.depth=1&toc.id=d0e343&brand=oac4

Anyway. Thank you all for coming with me into the Papyrus Experimentation Zone.
I have been given Papyrus offcuts! Experimentation shall commence
Only have a sharpie but it doesn't bleed, and only smears in the first couple seconds before the ink dries
It doesn't like to tear if you pull in a straight line, but if you pull diagonally it will shred. Tears in a straight line if you crease it first
Tastes bad
Crumples stiffly, shows white crease marks and doesn't want to flatten again
You can cut shapes in it!
Smoulders, but surprisingly resistant to burning
Soaks up water but doesn't fall apart, becomes very flexible
Back to the intended purpose. The paint sits on the surface so you have to wait until it's fully dry or it will smear. Unpleasant textural experience to write on it with pencil. Both paint and pencil wiped off if rubbed with a damp finger. (Historical inks may not have done that but I don't have any)
