Hey everyone, I recently left my job as a Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens to move onto greener pastures (that’s the phrase, right?) After working in retail for almost six years, I managed to make as much of it as possible under the stress and scrutiny associated with working in retail, and if there was one thing I wish I could’ve had, it was some sort of cheat-sheet with little pieces of information to help me hit the ground running when I first got the job.
...So, I made one. This is for anyone who’s working on the ground floor of CVS, Walgreens, Rite-Aid, etc, and wants to get back into the pharmacy for a change of pace in work and pay. This is for anyone who’s in college for pharmacy and is about to intern for the first time in a retail environment. This is for anyone who doesn’t want to walk into a better paying position and feel totally clueless when hit with a question, or prescription, or any other of the millions of roadblocks that pop up during the course of your 8 to 10 hour shift you’ll be working on a daily basis.
I hated feeling overwhelmed by stresses I knew I could’ve avoided, so I want to try and help anyone and everyone thinking about getting a job as a pharmacy technician to go in with some knowledge under their belt, and feel confident in their abilities from the get-go. Here’s my first of probably many cheat sheets to come, I hope this helps anyone who comes across it :)
