She woke curled around him, her mass utterly engulfing him, while he continued to sleep stone still save for the faint rise and fall of his belly. Phasma traced his jaw with the back of a finger, and leaned over him to catch the corner of his mouth with a soft kiss.

The Captain always woke earlier than most, and did her best to slip away from the Lieutenant without disturbing him.

Their relationship definitely remains outwardly platonic in public. Phasma is as cold mechanical toward him as anyone else, while still showing him the respect she feels he deserves. She’s a little warmer toward him in private, though. And things can absolutely get more heated if the mood serves.

But sneaky little flirtations definitely happen now and then, or Phasma finds excuses to send for him once in a great while, careful not to make a pattern of it. Her favorite, though, is inviting him to spar. Sometimes together, other times she’ll host an impromptu training session with Troopers who are slacking, and watches him spar with them. There’s almost nothing Phasma admires more than someone with polished fighting skills, and Mitaka especially because of how deceiving his stature is.

But it’s also his kindness and meekness. He’s unlike anyone else she’s met. Her world isn’t made with kindness in mind. It’s rough and hard and even inhuman in several aspects. She isn’t even aware of how starved she is for kindness and touch, until they’re alone together.
