I canceled my Friday lectures because (a) the entire department except for me is out of town for our national conference and not having class anyway, (b) my afternoon section is so full of apathetic shits that I need to not see them for a while so I can simmer down, and (c) I just got a metric ton of revisions to my third chapter which need attending to. Chapters 4 and 5 are also with my advisor right now and Chapter 6 is halfway written. I have to have a complete draft done by the end of January to make it for May graduation.
Also I managed to find a single, awesome human in this town of 3,200 who is neither my student nor my direct colleague so I snapped him up about two months ago and he’s very lovely.
