2017 in hindsight.
I have avoided writing this all the time, thanks monkey, so I thought it was about time, and what’s better than a new year’s post? Well for you who haven’t heard has some things happened with Phenomena this year. Nothing huge, but more than the last few years. July 2nd: Eliassen put out a teaser trailer for a new book. July 3rd: Eliassen submitted a phone background/movie poster of Sha-ra. July 4th: He put out the picture again, now in two colours, along with the message: The Phenomena series continues in 2018, the first book takes place 10 years after Phenomena 7 ended and is called “Children of the Night” and is a completely new series, but with the same characters everyone knows from the Phenomena series. And those wondering what happened to Ilke will get to know it now July 12th: he created an album called “Downloads”, with 2 PC wallpaper versions of the picture of Sha-ra. July 23rd: he uploaded 5 new wallpapers with a new version of the one of Sha-ra, but also with Alk, Ilke, Arol, and Tarkan was added. He also wirtes something about planning a new website. If it will replace phenomena.no or be the one to fill rubeneliassen.net so it becomes something like Darren Shan’s website is unknown (it would be really cool though!!). If any of you wonder what happened to the .com website (which I never had a chance to visit…) was it first stolen by a Japanese beauty blog called kireinokiseki(the secrets of beauty), (dunno how they expected people to find it when it had the name of a Norwegian author, but what do I know :|), then it was stolen by a domain thief who will give it back after a couple thousand dollar ransom is paid. July 29th: he wrote: Update, now I have written 136 manuscript pages of the new Phenomena book, Children of the Night. The first came in 2002 and ended in 2011with book 7. Now it’s a new round September 13th: finally an update was written after a couple months of nothing: Ancestral Sin is finished, Phenomena 8 is sent to the publisher … shit, I’m wirting for a new series … Ancestral Sin (which is a pretty big thing in Norwegian culture, unfortunately) is his new crime fiction book. What he really means by all this is unknown as it sounds like rambling of some sort. There haven’t been any uptates since then. Sometime in december: (unfortunately I’m unable to pinpoint exact when) was all the Josah books removed from the Gyldendal website for some reason. If they are declared uncanon by Eliassen himself, or if something political is involved is unknown (we should ask him…).They are still aviable on ark though, so maybe they’re completely sold out..? So if any of you have bought as many of them you can is it okay to share your story. But it reminds me of when all the paperbacks and the 29kr editions of book one disapeared. It’s a real mystery. Something else but important nontheless: it has aparently been online for some time, but I first found it this year. I found the script to the TV-series. It’s… terrible… I shouldn’t rant about it here, but if you want to see it send me a meassege here although you have to prove to me that you have read the books so the stupid script won’t ruin your first impression. It seems like Filmed Imagination rejected the script Eliassen liked, had PhenomenaWriter quickly wirte something they edited themselves (like what happened with Dragonball Evolution and the Super Mario Bros. movie, if they became even worse is up to you), and submitted it. No wonder the investors are saying no, the script is hideous! Not directly related to Phenomena but still important: October 1st, 14PM Eliassen’s girlfriend gave birth to a little daughter! Her name is Iza Isolde and he’s extremely proud of her, so welcome to the world litle Iza! May you live long and prosper! I unfortunately got writer’s block on the mainsite, and I have no idea if anyone’s gonna bother to see this, but at least, here’s the latest news. I’ll try writing a mail to Gyldendal to find out what happened with the Jolsah books. We are finally getting a new book soon, and I can’t wait! And.. I need someone to rant about the script with. So have an awesome new year everyone, and I hope we’ll be able to comunicate more next year, like most fandoms do!
