Time for some good old fashioned screaming into the void, I haven’t done this in a while

I’m going to chronicle the dates and conversations I’ve had on apps so far, because they funny but also I wanna cry. I’m going back into the closet istg

#1: Matched on Bumble, she offered to do a BG3 speedrun with me - I get super excited because FINALLY someone who speaks my language!! But no!! After the date she tells me she doesn’t even play the game, and doesn’t intend to and I’m being weird about it :)

#2: Made it to date two, she asks for my insta and if I wanted to go see a hockey game next weekend. I don’t even like hockey, but say yes bc she’s cute. Proceeds to tell me she doesn’t know when the game takes place (bullshit), stalls me when I offer an alternative thing to do (bullshit), posts a story of her AT THE GAME, then texts me afterwards as if nothing happened ✌️ AND THEN tells me she only sees us as friends, after I said she didn’t seem that interested (✿◕‿◕)

#3: Asked her for her insta, she gives me her number instead, which I would have found cute under any other circumstances, but the vibes were kinda weird already. We text back and forth, the vibes continue to sour, so I gently tell her that I don’t think this is a good match. She completely ignores my message, and continues texting as if I hadn’t said anything~

#3: Talked on Hinge, she gave extremely short answers and I literally knew nothing about her after like 10 messages. Decided to give it one more try, so I asked if her tattoos had a meaning to her - Her: yes :)

#4: Also on Hinge: she asked me if I did cosplay. I said no, but I’d kinda like to bc I think creating an entire costume from scratch is super impressive. Ask her if she does cosplay. She says no. Ask her if she wants to do cosplay. Her: not really :)) then doesn’t text back for two weeks

#5: Friend tries to set me up with a friend of hers. Didn’t have much time but I went anyways bc I wanted to meet her. They start playing a drinking game, and I hate drinking games, so I’m already kinda checking out. Tell them I need to go home now and this woman will not accept it. Asks me to stay at least 10 times, offers to buy me food if I stay, ignores everything I say, to a point my friend has to step in and tell her to shut up. Like, if you can’t even take a no on something as simple as that, what else are you not going to take a no on

Kinda sad about how a job turned out that I’d been really looking forward to. Very high profile client, cool project, everything seemed to be going well, but the communication has been a nightmare and a half. At this point I doubt my illustration will be in the project at all.

I know these things happen, but it still bulldozes your confidence tbh
