46 years ago - January 25, 1971 - the Berrigan Brothers were on the cover of Time Magazine. Phil, a Josephite, and Dan, a Jesuit, were the first American priests ever sentenced to prison for resisting an unjust war. Prior to becoming an outspoken opponent of the Vietnam War, Phil had actively opposed segregation and worked for civil rights in the south. Dan spent the last many years of his life caring for the victims of AIDS. Unlike so many phony right-wing preachers of today, Phil & Dan didn't pay lip service to the Gospel; they lived it...
