         fingers  run  over  the  edges  of  her  prized  polaroid  highlander ,  the  one  tool  she  knows  she’ll  never  have  to  go  without .  she  won’t  allow  it .  a  small ,  almost  shy  smile  pulls  to  her  lips  as  the  camera  settles  in  her  lap  and  she  shifts  in  her  seat  before  offering  him  a  shrug .  “ it’s  always  been  there .  guess  i  was  born  with  it ?  that’s  a  thing ,  right ? ”  a  soft  laugh  and  she  ducks  her  head  down .  she  hasn’t  really  talked  about  getting  into  ghost  hunting .  most  people  probably  don’t  know  a  damn  thing  about  her ,  probably  haven’t  seen  anything  she’s  guested  on  or  read  the  articles  she’s  helped  out  with .  and  that  was  fine .  she  knew  her  accomplishments .  one  day  someone  would  share  those  with  her .

   southern  accent  grows  thick  as  she  thinks  back  on  growing  up  in  south  carolina ,  stumbling  into  a  woman  in  the  middle  of  mom  and  dad’s  basement  who  just  didn’t  belong .  maybe  that  had  been  the  moment ?  “ i  grew  up  in  the  middle  of  ghost  story  central  and  i  guess  some  shit  just  kinda  sticks .  i  got  my  first  polaroid  when  i  was  fifteen  and ...  never  looked  back ,  y’know ?  got  my  first  ghost  shot  the  day  after  i  got  the  camera .  still  got  it  in  my  car .  i  keep  it  in  my  visor  as  a  reminder .  can’t  forget  the  goal ,  yeah ? ”
