What was Philip's first experience in the boiling isles?
Not particularly a good one! He spent the first 2 weeks there, bedridden and in and out of consciousness thanks to a bad case of pneumonia.....

In my Wittebound AU, Philip still gets cursed! But the curse or, “Belos” takes over his body. It’s a very powerful curse, and Philip, try as he might, just couldn’t win in the end... Then Belos decides he doesn’t want any “weaknesses” so he basically evicts Philip from the body, and binds most of his soul to a few of his old diaries with the help of dark magic. Then scatters them all! One of which ending up in the restricted section of the library.

So are Luz and Philip friends in your AU? How do they bond?
They are! Their relationship is a little awkward in this AU, mostly due to Luz immediately drowning Philip in questions, most of which "this" Philip didn't have answers to, since he was only the first diary. And Philip was a mix of frighten, and extremely confused when he first came out of his journal.
But with some trial and error, they were quick to become friends! And often spend time swapping stories of the human and demon realms, Luz teaches Philip about Glyphs, and Philip helps Luz find more "human friendly" foods.

There's 5 sealed diaries in total, hidden across the isles. Each Diary containing a different part of Philip’s soul, said parts themed around the dates when they were written. Each containing good, bad, and straight up painful memories.
Luz happens to find diary 2 first. Which hold all of Philip's memories from a little after when he first came to the isles and has been there for a few months. (age 19 when he first came to the Boiling isles)
In order to learn how to make the portal door, you need ALL of Philip, and all the diaries. So it's a race between the two parties to get all Philip's pieces back.
Luz, because she cares about Philip now too, and also wants to make a new door to get home.
Belos, because he doesn't 100% know how the portal was made. He needs to have a properly functioning door for the day of unity to work.

What if, instead of finding a glitch mouse. They found Philip trapped within, and tied to his own diary instead?
(The jumpscare of an entire man coming out of a nearly 300+ year old book gets Luz and Amity to shout and get busted, leading to Amity getting fired and them both kicked out of the library)
