Phi-líp 4:6 VB1925
For this reason God highly exalted Him and gave Him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow — of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth — and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Philippians 2:9-11 HCSB
Reflections for This Week
Major Topics: The things of this Earth are created for us, in ways that help us become closer to God. We are to make use of these things to bring us to our Holy purpose.
When it is said " we should make ourselves in different to created things" I think this means more of a sickly attachment, not that we should not tend to these things with love and care. If we are created in God image, then there are aspect of God that reside in qualities within us. Each person gets their own Special Quality from God to go out into the world and use this gift for the good and glory of God. When it says things are made for us, this doesnt neccisarily mean for consumption. Thing are made for us to provide us ways to showcase our Holy Purpose; our Holy talents: compassion, empathy, care, tender heartedness, thoughfulness, sharing, giving, restraining.
The things of this Earth, including the Crustal plain in which we live in, has been created and given to us for this reason.
I feel some resistence in this... it is almost entitiled. But that is misrepresenting the point. When it is said this world was made for Us, this does not mean that this world is ours like a possesion. It is a test of our faith, stregth and trust in God. Atests to see if we will choose good over evil. Restraint over Gluttony, Equity over Greed, Protection over Distruction.
The concept of Free Will baffles me to some point, but I believe that God will be there for you if you try your best to be with him. If he is with you, but you are not with him, then, we get lost in our way to our purpose. To be with God is our purpose, by utilizing these Holy gifts, we grow closer to God.
This includes trusting God in all the things that happen in between birth and death. We are to be with God, stay with God, throughout the good the bad and the ugly. When we are in our lows, with God, they will not remain lows. This doesnt mean everything will be changed and life will go back to normal. But that God has sent you here to do something, and this *thing* whatever it is youre going through is going to bring you closer to obtaining that objective so long as you keep yourself near to God.
~ God is always with you, but are you always /with/ God? ~
If I am failing, sick, or in some other low point I guess it's time to ask myself
Is this Gods way of rerouting me? Did I move in the wrong direction?
am I with God at this moment? How has straying from God gotten me here? or is God leading me to a learning point, one that will become useful at a later time?
Left turns must be accepted as a fact of life but with God if you make a left turn, he will always find a way to put you back to where he wanted you to go.
Philippians 1:12-26 My eager expectation and hope is that I will not be ashamed about anything, but that now as always, with all courage, Christ will be highly honored in my body.
Paul asks us to reconsider our outlook on our Lows, our desposition, and honor Christ. All our pain, our suffering, and use it to Glorify God, Honor Christ. Paul has no shame in living for Chirst, and he has no shame while living for Chirst.
Philippians 3:7 But whatever things were gain to me, those things I have counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Philippians 3:7
Therefore I should forfit my pride. Every failure is not an embarassment, nor is it a road stop. For with Christ the Road is never ending, always winding in the direction it needs to move in. Worldly accomplisments are all but for not in not for seeking a connection to Christ.
So although my life seems embarassing, worthless, and hopeless, this is a view that is voided from God. God is trying to guide me through something, which he never promsied would be easy, and I have been somewhat passive and lukewarm. Perhaps God is trying to capture my attention to reconnect deeper. I need to recenter my life on Christ, focus less of the things of this world, and more on how I can first: find my talents, and second use them to bring Glory to our Lord and Savior.

PHILIPPIANS S.O.A.P. ~ CHAPTER 1
Friday, 2/21/25
SCRIPTURE:
I thank my God every time I mention you in my prayers. I’m thankful for all of you every time I pray, and it’s always a prayer full of joy. ~ Philippians 1:3-4
OBSERVATION:
Kind of funny how this spoke to me in reverse order...
"...a prayer full of joy..."
"...every time I pray..."
"...I'm thankful..."
"...for all of you..."
"...every time I mention you in my prayers..."
"...I thank my God..."
Doesn't change the meaning (does it?)
APPLICATION:
Pray
...joyfully
...thankfully...
...every time..
PRAYER: Verses 9-11 - "personalized"
Loving Father God; May my love become even more and more rich with knowledge and all kinds of insight. May I be able to decide what really matters and so that I will be sincere and blameless on the day of Christ. May I be filled with the fruit of righteousness, which comes from Jesus Christ, in order to give You glory and praise. In Name of Jesus...
May the grace and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ be with you. (v 2)
