Traffic Sign Complaint, Street Name Sign Request for replacement
The street sign located at the intersection of Lindbergh Boulevard and Eastwick Avenue, which displays the name "Eastwick," is significantly faded and no longer legible. It is recommended that the sign be replaced with a new one.
Many Street Lights on Mario Lanza Blvd. are out and require bulb replacement
Numerous non-operational streetlights located near the intersection of Mario Lanza Boulevard and 81st Street require bulb replacement. The lack of illumination in this relatively isolated area of the Eastwick community creates hazardous nighttime conditions and poses a safety risk to residents who utilize the area for pedestrian activity. Prompt attention from the city is requested to address this issue and restore adequate lighting. These affected light poles are situated on the wooded side of Mario Lanza Boulevard, within the vicinity of addresses 3026 and 8100.
A significant accumulation of discarded car tires has been dumped in the roadside vegetation along Mario Lanza Boulevard
A significant accumulation of discarded car tires has been observed in the roadside vegetation along Mario Lanza Boulevard, specifically between Crane Street and 81st Street. These tires are located on the right-hand side of the road when traveling from 81st Street towards the intersection of Mario Lanza Boulevard and Crane Street, immediately before the 84th Street bridge.
Illegal dumping on a vacant lot adjacent to the Penrose Plaza Shopping Center
Location: 8100 Mario Lanza Blvd, Philadelphia, PA 19153
A recurring issue with illegal dumping on a vacant lot adjacent to the Penrose Plaza Shopping Center, near the Dollar Store. Despite having a gate and a padlocked entrance, the lot has become a dumping ground for garbage. I have previously reported this issue, but the situation has only worsened.
The accumulated trash is not only an eyesore but also poses a potential health hazard.
I urge the city to take action to address this issue and ensure the lot remains clean and free of debris.
Urgent Request for Sidewalk Repair – 8400 Block of Crane Street
I am writing to bring attention to the severely damaged sidewalk on the 8400 block of Crane Street, which connects to Mario Lanza Blvd. The sidewalk is in a state of disrepair, making it impassable for pedestrians and forcing individuals to walk in the street, posing a serious safety hazard.
This sidewalk is a vital pathway for Eastwick residents, particularly those who rely on it for daily commutes to the nearby SEPTA train station. Additionally, elderly residents who live in the area once used this sidewalk for mobility are now at risk due to its unsafe condition. Without proper repairs, pedestrians—especially seniors—are forced into the roadway, increasing the likelihood of accidents involving vehicles.
I respectfully urge the city to address this issue promptly and restore the sidewalk to ensure safe and accessible passage for all. I hope this concern receives the attention it deserves and is not overlooked.
Illegal Parking of Abandoned Vehicles - Mario Lanza Blvd. in front of Inglis Garden
Illegal parking of three wrecked vehicles on Mario Lanza Blvd., directly in front of the Inglis Garden at Eastwick property. On March 12, 2025, some residents observed a truck and trailer transporting these vehicles, which are in a state of disrepair and display temporary license plates.
This constitutes a violation of city ordinances against the parking of abandoned or inoperable vehicles, and it should be reported immediately to the Philadelphia Police Department (PPD) and the Philadelphia Parking Authority (PPA).
Uneven Dangerous Sidewalk behind Penrose Plaza Shopping Center
With its dangerous drop, the uneven sidewalk behind Penrose Plaza Shopping Center on Mario Lanza Blvd. needs immediate repair. To comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and prevent trip-and-fall accidents, sidewalks must be perfectly level. All pedestrians, especially those with disabilities, need smooth, accessible sidewalks. I would like for the city to resolve this issue before closing the case.
