10 Miles in My Shoes
This past Sunday in Philly was the Broad Street Run, the largest, most popular 10-mile race in the country.
As the first major race following the Boston Marathon, it had its fair share of tribute - from red socks to heart-shaped stickers and everything in between.
Runners were in high spirits on the path and the gorgeous weather brought the fans out in droves. Between goofy signs, free high fives and live music every few blocks, running it was a sight in itself.
Add that to the straight, somewhat downhill path and the attainable 10-mile distance and it's no wonder it boasts some 40,000 entrants (and a whole ton of spectators).
After every last one crammed through the gates at the Navy Yard and sprinted (read: lumbered) to the finish line, THEN it was time to party.
Congratulations to all the runners out there. And here's to yet another year of me saying "I'm really glad I did it but I'll probably never do that again."
