When I was in fifth grade, I got into a verbal scuffle with my teacher over a worksheet.

It was a math worksheet about inventions. You had to do the math problem under each invention to figure out what year each was invented.

The first was the television. Doing the math, I got the answer “1936”. I’m assuming the author of the worksheet meant Philo Farnsworth’s 1926 television, but got the math wrong. I brought it up to the teacher and told her the worksheet was wrong. She didn’t believe me. She wrote “1936” under the television and told me to work on the next problem, about the space shuttle.

(A while later, she admitted that the worksheet had indeed been wrong, and we reconciled.)
