Who's inferior?
So after yesterday's discussion, I thought about what some people said. I'm assuming that there's a mix of emotions about this topic. Are men really in power? Have they always been in power? Just questioning who is really inferior to one another.
I also have mixed opinions about this topic, as well, actually. Generally, I believe that women could be capable of practically anything that a man is capable of. However, I also believe that no matter how capable a women is of anything, they will always be inferior to men because that's just how it's been. I'm simply stating my belief based on my own personal opinion and experiences.
I've also discussed it with my roommate and we actually have the same opinion despite the fact that she never had a personal experience that led to that opinion. Like I said, that's just how it is. If women were really equal to men then what about the equality in the job market?
The reason why I personally believe this is because of the women and men in my family. So the women pretty much does every single task in this family of mine. My mom wakes up around 4 am and leaves for work at 5 am and she ends work at 2 pm but she doesn't come home until 3 or 4 pm because she has to pick up all the little children from school while their own father stays at home, jobless, just playing his video games for hours. My aunt works two nursing jobs. I rarely even see her! But her husband, the same man that spends all day playing video games, has the nerve to complain about driving her to work. Lastly, my grandmother is 70 years old, but she spends every single day cleaning the whole house, same exact tasks every day. I honestly believe she just has OCD, but I also believe it's because the men of the family (there's in living in the house; my two uncles and my brother). They are so ungrateful and rude. I don't even know how it's possible to have such a clean place and it ends up messy by the next morning, but somehow these men make it possible. So to sum it up: my mother works, takes care of the children, and does all the other tasks like grocery shopping or driving people around, my aunt works two jobs, and my grandmother cleans the whole house. At the same time, one of my uncles spends his jobless days playing his video games all day, my uncle goes to work and does nothing but complain all day about his "first world problems", and my brother just loves to argue with the family about how unfair his life is just because he has to go to work. In the end of the day, the women has to do whatever the men tells them to do. Yup, since my uncle is too "busy" to drop off his own wife to work, he tells, not asks, my mom to do it. My other uncle gets hungry and starts craving something, he's going to make my grandmother cook it for him. My brother is too lazy and asks our grandmother to pack him lunch for work.
So personally, I just believe that women will always be inferior no matter how much they are capable of.
