Music comes in diverse forms, and this month’s local music scene round-up via Music Roll further illustrates the versatility of music. We start with PhilPop 2016’s big bash celebration of Filipino musicality; the celebrated dream collaborations between Ely Buendia and Itchyworms in “Pariwara”; the indie music taking charge of this year’s first ever Linggo ng Musikang Pilipino; to memories worth recalling in Clara Benin’s songs while we wait for her return; in the never-ending cycle of love, denial, separation and finding new hope all together in new singles of Rico Blanco and Arnold Reyes; and for the ability to create free music in Josephine’s story and The Benchboy’s reunion for one last time. Let’s always celebrate music in all its forms, with the old and new, with the happy and sad, with beginnings and farewells, but most of all for all its good and enduring memories. #VJPMusicRoll #SupportOPM #dirtyoldmusical #YengConstantino #AkoSiJosephine #RicoBlanco #RBDatingGawi #PhilPop2016 #LinggongMusikangPilipino #Itchyworms #ElyBuendia #ClaraBenin #CBXSS #ArnoldReyes #VerJubePhotographics #SupportYourLocalArtists #SupportOPM verjubephotographics.com
GL: 5 STAGES OF TINATANGI FEELS (For People Nursing a Broken Heart)
In this time of hugot and romanticized heartbreak songs, it is refreshing to discover a song that bleeds real love. The Benjamin’s Tinatangi is exactly that.
Here, listen to the song para #relate!
The song in itself is a love letter that depicts the real meaning of this mysterious emotion we all run after… or away. Y’know. So much that it makes you wish the song was written for you, and to be honest; if you want it, why not? It’s meant to make everyone who hears it to feel loved and inspire them to love better. Even the ones who doesn’t have a love life right now /like us halp jk/.
With its sweet and uplifting melody and perfectly crafted lyrics, it is sure to hit that special spot that you are trying to lock up, mga bes. To prove my point, here’re the 5 stages of feels one experiences listening to the song (patterned to the 5 stages of grief na f na f ng mag pusong sawi):
1: Denial aka Don’t-Me Stage
Hear that rainmaker sound? Well, welcome to the first stage. This is where what you don’t expect hits you – feels.
Here you deny that you actually feel something. Tipong “hindi ako maapektuhan sa first couple of lines”. But the lines still do. Fortunately, no matter how hard we try, the feels still come and they are bound to stay for the whole duration of the song and even after. Wew.
2: Anger aka Fight-Me-Di-Ako-Kinikilig Stage
The moment the Oh, oh starts, you cross your arms and tell yourself you’re not gonna fall for it. Tapos mejo magiging defensive ka with your own emotions.
Pagmulat ng ating araw, ikaw ang tinatangi. Sa bukas na tinatanaw, ikaw ang tinatangi ~~
Nobody’s judging naman, babe. Just saying.
Tapos you’d try to do that poker face you thought you’ve already mastered.
(puso ang ating gabay) Oh sinabayan mo no? HA HA Good luck. Heh.
3: Bargaining aka Emergerd-Send-Halp Stage
Pagyakap ng dapithapon, ikaw ang tinatangi. Subukin man ng panahon, ikaw ang tinatangi ~~
In this part, you just want to skip the song and click next. Because you remind yourself you’re broken hearted and you want to grieve. Too late. You’re in too deep.
Or I dunno, calling you bebe ko, perhaps?
Tapos may biglang mamimiss ng konti, wishing you can send the link of this killig to the bones song para kayo pa rin, kayo na lang ulit .. pero HECK NO! JLC na lang. #NeverAgain #NeverForget
4: Depression aka Bes-Stahp-Na-Pls-Hihi Stage
Ayun. Hinawakan mo yung buhok mo sabay ngiting kala mo wala nang bukas. With kirot kasi shet wala ka nang love life di ba? Say it with me: wala na/pa (depends ano trip mo besh) akong “the one”.
At this stage, you’d want to hug and have a lovingly intense starring contest with the wind; you’d imagine someone with no face and still feel like falling in love. True? True.
How does the song do it? Don’t know. Probably sorcery. (Verification needed for this sorcery theory)
Sa bawat pagkakataon, ikaw ang tinatangi. Ngayon bukas at kahapon, ikaw ang tinatangi ~~
Nakapikit na yung mga mata mo dito, imagining yourself in your dream wedding, crying your romantic heart out. Okay, maybe just tearing up a little. Don't bite.
And then, of course, with that pause, you try to catch your breath from this emotional roller coaster you’ve just experienced through this song.
After going through these stages, you’d think back to what your heart just went through and smile to yourself. Why? Probably because you’ve realise that maybe true love is actually out there. That if a love that’s so magical like that could exist in a song then it sure was inspired by real life love. Yeah, the song has that effect on hearts.
So bring it on, life! We’re ready for all your obstacles as long as pag-ibig would stay. And while you’re at it, please send crush too. hihi
Disclaimer: The intensity of the effect of the song may vary on each individual. Please do not kill us if it makes you more kilig than you can handle.
Cheers!
