I dont know how captain lao jiyao and iknyukhina like in the book but i like how in the movie they do a pretty shit job at convincing Grace to die in space with them like they are missing out the obvious

grace’s eventual death on eridani. all the eridians gather around his dome and create a chorus of sounds of remorse and longing. in the middle of it all is rocky in his little space ball inside the dome. he sits beside grace, his carapace low.

even after everyone has cleared our, after xenonite statues have been made, rocky is still by grace’s side, grace who is now buried under ground (he taught rocky this.) he can’t seem to leave.
