One of the most stunning locations in Bhutan is the expansive glacial valley of Gangety, also known as Phobjikha valley, one of Bhutan's most picturesque locations. Exceptionally diversified, the sacred and protected area is home to some of the most unusual and exotic wildlife species, including the globally endangered black-necked cranes that migrate yearly from the Tibetan Plateau. A good potato harvest and wealth for the valley are thought to accompany their auspicious entrance.

The Gangtey Monastery, located at the head of the valley, is one of the significant religious sites that Gangtey can also claim. Exceptional valley vistas as well as a variety of nature trails are available here, spoiling adventurers.
