— Do you think Lenny loves Miriam, or do you think it’s all show business to him?
— I have a strong feeling about [that], but sometimes it’s better not to say things out loud.

You know what fucking BREAKS me? Lenny is so gentle with Midge.
His act, his opinions, his general demeanor is brash and energetic, but EVERY TIME he’s with Midge he’s just. Fucking soft.
Looks at her like she’s god’s gift on earth. Stares adoringly at her for minutes at a time. Talks to her in the most deeply loving way. You are lovely. I thought it was sensational. You are better than god. To you? Always. I will laugh the entire time, I promise. If you blow this, Midge… The way he held her in Miami. The softness when he gave her the glass in the hotel. The way he holds her when she wants to leave his bed. The gentle, gentle way he interacts with her, even right after she’s found his drugs.
And the only times he shows his harder side? In her apartment, when he’s vulnerable and exposed. Getting her out of the Wolf, when he’s worried about her. After Carnegie, when he’s pleading with her to understand how much her career means to him.
I just. I’m weak.
I’m crazy about the specific type of psychological horror in Russian Doll. If I saw my mother’s face in the mirror I would kill myself instantly
Russian Doll fucking delivered on the whole “generational trauma is inevitable but we must learn to forgive those who came before us” and then two weeks later Undone just came in and really drove the point home and reiterated the entire concept of “we need other people and the love we have for each is stronger than the trauma”
Truly an “if I had a nickel krugerrand for every time a crazy woman went time traveling to undo her family trauma I’d have two nickels krugerrands which isn’t a lot but it’s weird it happened twice in a month” situation
Girls don’t want boyfriends they want Natasha Lyonne to narrate the Bell Jar
I can’t get over how beautifully Midge and Lenny’s relationship evolved from the beginning. Rewatching their interactions from s1 onwards you can see how he gradually warms up to her. Slowly stops using his “performance voice”. They sit closer, they stop hiding their motives (like the scene where Midge throws an olive at Lenny and later the one when he throws stuff at her onstage - how it went from sort of playful to shamelessly what-you-gonna-do-about-it), they start being raw and honest -
It’s truly beautiful to watch, and the blue room scene feels like the perfect sublimation of all their previous interactions: the jokes (now they joke because they want to, not to hide their embarrassment), the way they care for each other, their looks of pure unadulterated lust… I could keep going but I don’t want to start crying
