I feel like something that gets overlooked is the fact that Jon Bois has written fanfiction. like "The Tim Tebow CFL Chronicles" is 45k words of sports RPF. it came out in 2014 and can't even be accessed in its entirety (the YouTube videos aren't actually embedded anymore, and one of them was deleted/privated). like, I get why it doesn't have the reach of 17776, but c'mon.

if you liked the season and season finale, I'm very glad!! don't let me stop you from enjoying it, but I am feeling very disappointed by this ending lol.
season 2 just felt so much more tonally inconsistent than season 1, and I don't think I disliked season 2 since there are a lot of strong moments and the minutia of each episode is really good (the first half in particular! I had a lot of fun!), but there's nothing really tying the whole season together, and the plotlines they did try to give us didn't really resolve imo. it felt like the first half was building up to a very different second half, and then the second half happened and I was like huh... this was a writing decision.
I'm open to discussion if you want to argue or agree with me, cause I genuinely am unsure what to think other than "....yeah? I guess?"
I've been craving a blueberry bagel with smoked salmon cream cheese for weeks, but they only serve both these items at this one dining hall at my school and only for breakfast, which ends at 10 PM, and I never wake up early enough to go, and the one time I did, I went with my friend to a different dining hall that also had bagels because he said I could get my order there, since he wasn't aware they didn't serve either of those items there, and I woke up today at like noon to find out my friend had grabbed me a blueberry bagel with smoked salmon cream cheese when he got breakfast and I'm literally so happy right now
Mac is really incapable of having a fantasy without Dennis in it every time we get a glimpse into Mac’s head it’s like *thinks about Dennis screaming “I love you”* *thinks about Dennis kissing him* *thinks about holding hands with Dennis*
honestly
also, I see you and raise you:
1. it boggles my mind that in season 8 episode 7 “Frank's Back in Business”, Mac would use Vic Vinegar as his alias. yes, in this episode he is a bodyguard, but why bring back Vic? I would’ve easily believed that Mac has other aliases if he just came up with another name, but no. instead they bring back Vic, when the last time we saw Vic Vinegar, it was at the end of “The Gang Exploits the Mortgage Crisis“ and Mac and Dennis were pretending to be married. I repeat: the last time we the audience and (assuming) Mac and Dennis saw Hugh Honey and Vic Vinegar, they were married. why does Mac want to use something associated with him being married to Dennis?
2. additionally, Dennis kissing him in his dream in “PTSDee”... the way Dennis was holding his face was so reminiscent of the way Dennis-as-Hugh holds Mac-as-Vic’s face before they were pretending to be married. Mac, it’s been around 7 years.
3. someone pointed out to me that in his fantasy where Dennis screams “I can't live without you. I love you!”, Mac’s last words before he dies is “I don't forgive you” to Dennis. which I have no real analysis about atm but much to think about. (the previous two episodes to “The Gang Saves the Day” are “Mac and Dennis Buy a Timeshare” and “Mac Day”, so my current guess is that has something to do with “Mac Day”, since something similar happens in “Being Frank” right after “Mac and Dennis Move to the Suburbs”.)
I rewatched "The Gang Dines Out" yesterday and I've been thinking about that moment nonstop where Dennis and Mac see that Frank and Charlie arrived at Guigino's, and Dennis tells Mac "They know it's our monthly dinner." Except as far as I'm aware, Frank, Charlie, and Dee never say anything or act in a way that implies they do know it's their monthly dinner. Did Dennis and Mac tell them and they just forgot? Why do they think it's common knowledge among the gang?
Also we can see both Mac and Dennis eating salad during their dinner, and this episode takes place after "The Gang Gets a New Member" when Mac admits to Dennis that he hates salad, but Mac doesn't seem to complain about the salad this episode. I know this might just be reading too much into things, but is Mac just tolerating eating the salad to make Dennis happy? Though if Dennis knows he hates salad, I don't think Dennis would force Mac to eat salad, especially since Dennis sat on the wobbly chair and didn't say anything about the two colognes until after the dinner started going downhill.
