Part 7
They banish us to the depths of hell, we just absorb and master the heat.
Nikita Gill, from "Phoenix Blood"
It could be said, that Lord Demon really did love Yu Mingye. He finds himself unable to kill his son, and then allows him to get away unharmed. He knows full well that Mingye has the Phoenix Blood, and he likely knows that letting Mingye get it to Feng Wu will cost him and Queen Gao the battle and cause their downfall. He lets it happen anyway. Perhaps he’s just that confident in his ability to defeat Phoenix Blood!Feng Wu. Perhaps he’s hoping someone else will take down Mingye and stop him from getting the Blood to Feng Wu. Perhaps he’s giving Mingye this victory as an apology for being the Worst Father on the continent.

Jazz again~
They are mysterious wandering bard of sorts who does work on commission. Few know where Jazz is from, or if Jazz is even their real name or just an alias. Some think they are a powerful mage as they do have magic. Others think they are a witch, again because of their powerful magic. The only marking anyone has seen on their body though is the roman numerals for 20 though so no one is really that certain. Witch markings are always clearly some sort of entity not a numerical concept.
It is known that Jazz is gender non-conforming and dresses as they wish for any given circumstance. When spoken to directly about it, they reveal they prefer to think of themselves as agendered.
Their magic is based in music, which is a common enough genre of magic amongst witches and mages, but they can bring out power not just from their own voice but from instruments they play. Some are wary of Jazz, while others flock to them for the novelty of their mystery.
You have a random chance of meeting Jazz in some towns and cities and can start a plot line where you can recruit them amongst the phoenix knights.
