note: probably my favorite piece for this event, and it was just a spur of the moment ones! I kinda decided the theme as I went along, and had lots of little thoghts, so have a look at those under the art!
some headcanons:
Touya is the eldest son of King Enji The Phoenix King, and is the heir to a Kingdom he doesn't want
Keigo is a friendly but mischievous pixie who's living a bit of a Robin Hood lifestyle
King Enji wants Keigo captured and punished, but the people of the kingdom loves him so much, so nobody ever turns him in
Touya lives a pretty sheltered life inside the castle grounds, the King has many enemies, and the head and wings of his eldest son is a sought after trophy
All Touya wants is the chance to fly freely, to meet the people, to have one normal day
One day his archery teacher doesn't show, and suddenly Touya has a day with nowhere to be for the first time in... ever
He puts on the most normal looking tunic he can find, and heads out a secret opening in the castle walls he and his siblings have kept secret forever
He finds a small field hidden away in the forrest, and for the first time since he was a kid, he gets to fly freely
What he doesn't know is that he as an audience of one watching him with stars in his eyes and a heart that feels just about ready to explode
When Touya finally spots his audience, Keigo is getting ready to flee, but Touya is fast, and he manages to round up the blonde pixie before he has the chance to leave
They both hover just a few feet off the ground, carefully staring each other down, when suddenly it clicks
For the both of them, at the exact same time, who the other is
They end up bantering for a while, carefully maneuvering around each other, hearts beating quickly, nervous excitement coursing in their veins
When they end up parting ways that night, with a promise to find each other again soon, Keigo realizes he might have met his match in more ways than one
