The two of them had been marathoning the first season of the The Steel Samurai: Warrior of Neo Olde Tokyo for the majority of the evening, as per Lucina’s request. She had found the DVDs in her boss’ office and as the two were free that night, they agreed to watch a few episodes.
A few episodes turned to most episodes. Phoenix didn’t think Lucina would be so eager to watch the show and it was a pleasant surprise as he was a big fan of the show himself. Sharing this with his employee-- his friend-- was a pleasure.
Perhaps it was the stress from the work week or the late nights staying up reading case files, but Phoenix had gotten quiet during the last part of the episode.
Lucina was on the edge of her seat as the Steel Samurai used his special move to defeat the villain, even lightly jumping as the final blow was dealt! “Steel Samurai Sushi Slice!”
She felt something heavy weigh on her side and turned her head to find Phoenix, fast asleep, having slid and now gently resting upon her. It took her a few seconds to react, but she smiled warmly.
In a near whisper, she thanked the man for a fun evening.
