continuation of this for @wanda-chaos-witch
"Wow- that's- wow. So, you can hear my thoughts? Or does it not work on... people like us?" Kailee was sure there was something different about the two of them now after touching the stone. Something not human. She still wasn't sure how she felt about it.
"That's insane. I have no idea what I can do yet besides just feel extremely hot." She let out a small laugh, but there was no joy in it. She looked down at her hands, they were tinted red along with the rest of her body. The scientists had taken her temperature earlier and she was able to catch a glimpse of it. She knew for a fact a temperature of 485°F was not normal. She didn't share that information with the woman she was speaking with. But if was telling the truth about reading minds she didn't have to. She believed Wanda was telling the truth, as crazy as the truth seemed.
"Pietro?" She repeated the name a couple times to herself quietly. It sounded familiar. "I think I heard the scientist mention that name earlier. I, uh, something about how he keeps running into the walls of his cell, but he heals rather quickly." She told Wanda what she had heard. She wasn't sure exactly what it meant but she hoped it would bring the woman a sense of comfort knowing her brother was mostly alright. "I really hope they do let you see him." She smiled slightly. "How-how many others have there been?" So, there were only three of them? Three of... whatever they were now.
"I'm so sorry, I would hate that... Maybe one day you'll learn how to control it." She tried her best to comfort her. Hearing the woman talk about her newfound abilities made her wonder what sorts of things were going to happen to her. "I'm glad you made it too." She sighed a bit, leaning her head against the wall again. "Well, I was having a really hard time. The man I thought loved me, I caught him with my best friend. Unfortunately, I was living with him, so I was on the streets for a little while after that. Then one day I overheard this group of people talking about this crazy scientist and his experiments. How he said he was gonna change the world. They were making it seem like it was some kind of revolutionary medicine thing. I figured it wouldn't hurt, and maybe I'd get paid for it. But no one said anything about what was really happening until they brought me here."
