This is a picture I’ve wanted to post for a while, and I figured what better time but right now. What you see before you is a Canadian market 2001 Acura Integra Type R, wearing it’s original shade of Phoenix Yellow and treated to a lovely selection rare and period correct parts. This particular example a unicorn of sorts, with less than 100,XXX KMs on the odometer, a spotless record, and having been owned by the second proprietor since 2006. It was this second owner than went about all of the modifications at the time and I must say that he has some excellent taste.
Starting with what you can see in the image, the car is rolling on forged Mugen MF-10 wheels, wearing optional OE side skirts and rear valances, rounding the rear end off with a gen 1 Mugen wing. Things only got better when made my way to the engine bay where I found a Mugen cold air intake, and headers, leading to a Mugen twin-loop exhaust. The interior was left mostly untouched, save for a Japanese market Integra Type R shift knob as well as a 96 spec Japanese airbagless Integra Type R steering wheel. Keeping with the theme of reversibility and simplicity the owner chose to make minimal modifications to the suspension, simply installing a set of coilovers to help the car sit just right.
The owner was there to show the car to a potential buyer, which made me even more painfully aware of the fact that I am no where close to being in the position to buy this or any other Integra Type R.
