I keep neglecting my tumblr! I’m sorry y’all. One of these days I’ll stop procrastinating and load up my queue again. In the meantime, I got my 2nd and 3rd Stripes this week!

Stinky Gi Guy
Yesterday at Jiu Jitsu, I smelled that all too familiar Gi funk smell. Smelled my own Gi out of paranoia. Smelled fine. It didn’t smell “close” anyway, but who was Stinky Gi Guy?
My partner during drilling smelled it, too. But it wasn’t her, and she didn’t think it was me.
Two of the usual culprits didn’t smell. And the third wasn’t there. Whoever it was was never close enough for me to know it was them. So Stinky Gi Guy remained a mystery.
Until the end of class. When I took my Gi top off and checked the armpits. Phew. Holy Gi Funk, Batman! Rest of my Gi smelled perfectly fine, but the pits. Oh, wow. So that Gi is now soaking in “Funk Away.” Wish me luck.
And that is the story of how *I* was Stinky Gi “Guy.”
My coach now does War Tribe! My favorite!! I want one of the sweet new custom Gis! But now I have to decide.... White Gi? Or Black? 🙀
Gold in Gi at the tournament today! Great matches against two very game ladies!
My favourite match as a white belt was against a gal named Andrea. I lost that match, but it was my most fun match that day. We both thoroughly enjoyed it and looked forward to sparring with each other again.
We were at a women’s camp together, but never got a chance to spar. We were in another tournament bracket together earlier this year, but I lost my match and my chance to compete with her again.
The last tournament, we finally had our chance. The photographer was on the wrong side so didn’t catch her smile and wink. I won this time. It was my turn. :p But a great match. She is tough as nails! I had to work hard.
She had a rough go in that bracket, but I got to watch her win in a no-Gi match later.
She is one of my favorite people. I’m looking forward to moving up through the ranks with her. Even if she beats me next time. ;)
Gold in NoGi against a very fun and funny gal. My first double gold at a tournament!
I should have remembered to fix my rashguard before the picture. Lol
Also, I got recognized by my fancy pants! (Hi! You’re awesome! 😊)
Apparently Honey Badger rashguard takes on a personality of its own while sparring.
