Happy (belated) Halloween! Say hello to mandeglare (ghost/?), who will eventually be taking the place of galaraud/galoryph as galorindle’s evolution once I figure out what I’m doing with the train wreck that is New Logora. No full dex entry yet—too busy screaming internally about NaNo to worry about this right now—but I figured it’d be nice to do something for Halloween, eh?

Revamped Faelan’s grass starters: lizeroon (grass), dracoroon (grass) and mandragoon (grass/dragon). (Yes, dragon.) Never quite as troublesome as kindelf and company, but they were long overdue for some general cleanup and could’ve done with looking less bland. Now they look more like actual grass-types as opposed to just “green”, I hope.

Revamped petrocka (rock/fighting)! Finally a more dynamic pose and less half-assed rocky elements.

Seramanea (water/ghost)! This one is new. Ish. Technically the idea’s been around for a while and most of the art since 2018, oops. It’s sort of to manaphy what manaphy is to phione—call it “King of the Sea”, if you will—albeit a fair bit larger and a little... different. Not a lot is known about it, but you’re welcome to take a look at its signature ability and signature moves and speculate wildly if you like!

It’s not currently part of any of the Phoenixdex regions, and actually doesn’t have any pokédex data just yet. Seramanea was originally created for that Arilterra nonsense I keep banging on about, actually, but since that’s still so up in the air there’s a lot I don’t know yet (or don’t want to reveal yet since it might be spoilery). Maybe I can find something for it to do on the Phoenixdex as well, though! We’ll just have to see.

Revamp January, Revamp January, Revamp January!

(also, in the case of the latter two, revamp some-other-month-from-the-end-of-last-year-i-forget-i-really-need-to-remember-to-actually-update-every-time-i-mean-to-add-art!)

Some sorely-needed art updates for sheleras (grass/electric) and josuche (fighting/flying), and a redesign for kuduzela (normal), who was fine on a technical level but super dull design-wise. Nowhere near visually loud enough for a fakemon that is supposed to be a Very Loud Boy.

Ahem. Anyway. Finally revamped mega arcanine! With a proper design that I actually thought about for twelve seconds and everything, instead of the ancient garbage art and design from a long-lost and totally unnecessary alternate growlithe evolution that was thought about for no seconds. You could theoretically see the old one by clicking on that first link up there, but you probably shouldn’t do that; I replaced it for a reason.

Fire/dragon. Current ability is mold breaker, though I think I’d rather replace it with something custom (since my mega ninetales gets a signature ability), or at least different; mold breaker is good, especially with that type combo, but it’s not particularly flavorful. Not sure what yet, though!

Hey, remember that time I doodled a piggybank dragon for the June Fakeathon? I finally got around to refining iggydrake (normal/dragon), just in time for the Phoenixdex’s eighth birthday (aaaaa). I’m particularly amused by its signature moves, which require pay day to function optimally and which are pretty silly gimmicks as a result, haha. I may tweak their effects and iggy’s dex entries a little more in a while, and there are more fakemon I wanted to have ready for the birthday but didn’t have time for, but I think these all turned out pretty well for now.

Have you ever considered adding a Team to the mix? Making your own, or bringing in some old rivals? Ps, love your piggy bank dragon it cute :3

Well, Accolanto does have a villainous team, if that’s what you’re referring to! Not that it’s easy to tell that given there’s precisely zero mention of them on the site, hahaha... ha... ha... but it does! They’re called Team Venom, and they’re more Rocket-like than the more recent canon teams in that they’re really just here for the cash, thanks. There’s not a ton more to talk about re: them at the moment because WIP and also spoilers, but I can say that their signature pokémon is boomrslang!

New Logora has no traditional evil team because idk I felt like doing something different. At the moment the closest thing to a “Team” they’ve got are the Revivalists, who are outwardly Very Good People but I suppose you’d have to get through the plot to figure out whether that’s actually the case, heh.

I don’t even know what’s going on with Faelan I’ll get back to you after I’m done bashing my head against a wall hoping that ideas fall out
