Morning light reveals what was hidden in night's shadows: remnants of nightmares and crumpled sheets

only the thought of your loving arms keeps me from screaming

My love, upon the day we wed, I said "forever and always." My love, the day our child was born, I sang "forever and always." My love, the day your sickness came, I cried "forever and always."

My love, the day you left this world, I said, "I'll be home soon."

What is this fabled sunlight? For I have never seen. I only know the dark and gloom of rainstorms and water streams.

Waking or dreaming, or perhaps sleeping? So real and yet so unreal I feel as though I am asleep when outside Yet I can sleep in my dreams So how do I know I'm sleeping When I could be awake just daydreaming of sleep?

Step after step,

huffing and puffing,

the end unseen.

You tell me a silly joke, And you have me in giggles.

Just seeing your face Leaves me smiling uncontrollably.

Never before has one person's presence, Lit up my world so brightly.
