Don't Risk Losing Precious Photos Digital Images Deserve Archival Prints

For well over a century, photographs have been our tincture to preserving life's richest memories. From school portraits to family candid's, from snapshots of kuhio day parties so treasured moments up-to-date faraway places, photographs help us remember the people and places we hold most dear. Working in photo labs sucks!

I am so tired of customers coming in complaining that the pictures they printed look bad when they were taken with iPad/phone. I don't care how many megapixels the camera is on your device, that makes no difference.They are obviously going to look bad as that is not a real camera. If you want your pictures to not look fuzzy, use an actual camera that is 8MP and up.

Out of Commission - Temporarily

The shop where I've developing my rolls recently stopped developing film due to chemical leaks in their machine. Sadly, they are just the only ones who can develop film on a tight/budget rate here in the province.

Any info on photo labs that still develop film in Manila or Cavite will help...

Lab Found: Joo Ann Foh

This lab is located at Holland Village, and as expected, prices are higher, with less flexibility (they don't do cross-processing!). Service wasn't great, as the girl didn't seem friendly. Turnaround times are short for C-41 processing: 1 day for 135, and 2 days for 120 film. Slide films take much longer. Unlike Fotohub, you pay upon depositing your rolls there. I left a single roll of C41 film there, and will collect it today. The only advantage for me as far as I can see is that they open from 9am - 9pm!

Note: They have moved from the outskirts of Holland Village to Holland Village Shopping Centre (the building with the iconic windmill).

UPDATE: I have received my 35mm panoramic-masked film from this lab and all I can say is don't bring your films to them if you are shooting a different aspect ratio than the regular one (3:2). They cropped all my scans to 3:2.
