Lightroom:
Lightroom is a great software program by Adobe that allows you to change the lighting and colouring of photos to a great extent.
Personally, I would recommend using Lightroom as your main way of editing as it is simple and easy to edit an entire batch or session in one go. Lightroom is also great for creating continuity within your editing style as you can use the same ‘preset’ on all of your photos, making them look like they belong together and have the same stye.
This Youtube video is a great tutorial for beginners first using Lightroom.
Photoshop:
Photoshop is a very versatile software program also by Adobe that allows you to completely manipulate photos. Within photoshop you can change lighting, colouring, remove objects, duplicate objects, increase and decrease the size of things and much more! Almost anything you want to do to a photo, you can do within photoshop.
As this program has a lot of features and controls it does take some time to learn, but the basics are fairly easy to pick up quite quickly.
This Youtube video goes through the very basics of Photoshop so you can learn the first steps in using the program before diving in deeper and experimenting with the features.
Remember, don’t fear playing around with the editing software on your photos though as you can always undo any changes!
