"You mean besides the countless hours of sex we have?" It was meant to be a joke, a small smirk tugging on the corners of his lips as he glanced over at her in bed, almost lazily turning to his side to fully look at her. Yon-Rogg's expression changed from teasing to almost melancholical and he gave a little shrug. "A lot of things, I suppose. Did you notice I get up at night from night to night?" She must have, otherwise she probably wouldn't have asked to begin with. "How dumb would it sound if I told you I'm partially haunted by what happened in the past?"

Given their rather turbulent past, especially the part where they almost ended up together, a part of him was, in fact, rather disappointed that she really didn’t show up with flowers and a serenade at his doorstep. Instead, this felt like a slap in the face, but at the same time, a wake up call that he couldn’t live with hopes of something happening that was never meant to be. “As long as you don’t show up at my doorstep wanting to punch me in the face, we’re good,” he replied almost too casually, a small smirk tingling on the corner of his lips.

And still, it left him unsatisfied. Perhaps she was just playing with him. It certainly wouldn’t be a first. Amber eyes met brown, keeping contact for a few seemingly endless moments before Yon-Rogg pulled her close, connecting their lips in a deep kiss. “How about you grow up and finally muster up the courage to kiss me?”
