Good morning! Here is some progress from yesterday. I got all the hand-sewing done yesterday. All that's left is the wig. I'm still finishing up my second costume. Con Report- Phoenix ComiCon Fan Fest, aka adventures with fick and frak (Colin Baker and Paul McGann) part 3

So, I didn't do much Friday other than go to Paul and Colin;s panel (I missed most of Eddie McClintock's panel because I was busy rescuing a friend by finding his badge and hauling his donation bin down stairs.) The guys were real troopers though, they just got off the plane a couple of hours before, hence Paul looking so disheveled ( I can't complain. ;) rawr). I did get up and ask Colin about Maggie Stables (feels, just feels), but before I get to that, I had to bring the conversation to his comment about wanting the costume Eccleston got. I told him about the photoshopped images of his Doctor in Nine's costume, and said  "Daaaayyyyummmm Sooonnn!!". He just grinned like an idiot. yes, I openly flirted with Colin Baker. No shame. :D

. I had to leave early for a christmas party (Where, I kid you not, I met this guy who looked like the love child of Matthew McConaughey and Paul McGann. Too bad he was married. lol). so I didn't get a lot of time to do much after panels and food runs 

So Saturday rolls around, and I decide to get my Four Doctor's photo from Houston sighed before the crowds get big, and set my anxiety going, and I can spend the time at the booth that I need to to earn my keep. Of course, who do we go see first? Paul McGann. Paul LOVED the photo of all four of the guys wrapped up in my scarf, he couldn't get over Sylvester McCoy's expression (neither could Colin). He said Sylvester has two settinga- asleep, and going 90 miles an hour ( TOTALLY true). I couldn't afford to get the photo of myself and Paul wearing my Jayne hat, but I brought it to show him, and he got a good kick out of it, and said it proved how 'cheap' he was. lol. Even his handler loved it. (of course, I wanted to KILL one of the friends with me, he HAD to embarrass me, and said  "knowing her, she's probably got a shrine built around that photo." I was so mortified. Paul giggled, but I had no idea even how to respond to that. it could have been worse, the other friend with me was witness to the Captain McSassyPants indecent at Gallifrey)

For those who don't know, I've had a really rough year dealing with some family health issues along with loosing my job and struggling with my depression. Paul and all the other guys have been SOO unbelievably sweet to me, and it gave me just that little bit of light to get me though the tough things.  I wouldn't have gone to Fan Fest if  Paul and Colin weren't there, I needed to say thank you to them both, especially Paul. So, I shake his hand, and he does the same thing he did at Gallifrey, he just stands there and holds my hand real tight in both of his and smiles (if I didn't have friends with me, I would have died right there on the spot, but I maintained composure, amazingly enough). Now is the time, so somehow without crying, I just tell him thank you for being so sweet and kind to me over the last year, and that it meant a lot to have something like that while I was  going through all my issues, like my dad being sick. Without a second thought, he gives me the puppy dog eyes, and  says "Aww, come here sweetheart", and kisses me on the cheek and, pulls me into a hug, and doesn't let go (Which I am so ok with, that grey hoodie he always wears, OMG so soft and snuggly, I could have hugged him all day just for that sweatshirt). Later on, I couldn't help but ask for another hug after our photo op with both Paul and Colin, and Paul was very sweet to oblige, and hugs me tightly.

Even Colin was rather cuddly this weekend, he gave me just at big of a hug in the photo op. and he held my hand at his table, Our photo op was quite entertaining, I'll post it in a minute, it's thee doctors, Romana, and Missy. Freaking hilarious. My friend Suzanne rolls up in her scooter, and Colin says "You better watch out, Sylvester will steal that" ( And he would, Sylv is speed demon, he almost ran over me twice driving the golf carts in Houston. If we get him to PCC next year, Suzanne is going to get him to race scooter, god help us...). He also came by to sign the our group's TARDIS and walk around the booth, he seemed quite impressed.(we tried to get Paul over, he was quite enthusiastic about it, but he just ended up not having the time).

Best story though, happened Sunday. To preface this, somebody tried to start shit with Paul about the Liverpool/Manchester United match. in the panel, (for those who don't know HUGE LFC fan, and Colin is a Man U supporter), and I happened to mention that to Suzanne, and we were talking to Colin about it when I got my stuff signed. He mentioned he wasn't sure where he was going to watch it. So Suzanne gets up at 7 AM to record the live broadcast on NBC Sports, and put it on a DVD for Colin (first thing she says to me in the morning is "well, let's put it this way, Paul is not going to be happy" "Did Liverpool have their asses handed to them?" "Yup" "Awkweerrrd"). So, we go up to his table to get out photo from Saturday, and give Colin the DVD. He was quite gracious, and thanked us, but said he managed to catch the second half- but Paul hadn't seen it. So Colin waits for the opportune moment, and TAUNTS Paul with it. The look of LOATHING Paul gives Colin, was absolutely PRICELESS, it was a "Go fuck yourself" look if I ever saw one. I don't care much about fooball, so I had to laugh. Paul was actually a good sport about it, he did take the DVD to watch on the flight back and thanked us. Meanwhile, Suzanne's husband and I have to PRY her and Colin apart, because they DO NOT SHUT UP.  Colin is a chatterbox, and it's hard to stop Suzanne once she gets going. They just kept going on and on on about football, and cricket, and the last time Colin was in Arizona 30 years ago, and Jeff and I just look at each other going "Seriously?...". 

Once we manage to separate the talkative twins, we go over to Paul, I tell him I feel his pain, Oregon kicked Arizona's butts in a similar wayl a couple of weeks ago, and we've got the same sort of rivalry going on.  Of course, that sets he and Suzanne going about football, and that's one thing that is guaranteed to get Paul going, he LOVES his footie. So finally, I manage to muster up the courage to ask for another hug, and Paul gives me a big smile, and makes me come around the table. He hugs me real tightly, but as I start to let go,  he just keeps one around me, rubbing my shoulder (To which my mother said "Eww" to when I told her this story, WTF?) as he and Suzanne talk about David Bowie (not sure how that subject came up), and just continued to for a couple of minutes, and I finally give him one last hug.  Paul is just so incredible. I think I've mentioned before, I think he realizes that I don't see very well, and he's always been so kind and gentle towards me, and never been pushy about anything. THIS is why adore and look up to this man. <3

I'm going to Phoenix Fan Fest!!

I am so excited!!!!!! The 6th and the 8th doctors are going to be there too!! Hit me up if you're gonna be there!

I kind of want to give something to Paul McGann at Fan Fest, I'm just not sure what. I've had an extremely rough year, personal and family health issues, losing my job that was emotionally and psychologically stressful to begin with, dealing with bureaucracy BS in order to get the series I need as a disabled person for school and other things- it's not been real easy to deal with. All the Doctors in the boy band, especially Paul, have all been so kind and wonderful towards me, and I appreciate it so much, I needed that little bit of light and laughter to get me through the rest of the shit I've been dealt some days I want to.thank Paul for being so incredibly sweet to me the last couple of times I've met him. He's my Doctor, and ot means a lot to me. I had thought of a Jayne hat of his own, and maybe one in the LFC colors, since I know he loves his football. I'm not 100% I'll have the time or funds to order them though. Any ideas?
