For anyone in doubt about RTD’s utter lack of interest in (and quite possibly contempt for) the Eighth Doctor, this is Paul and India in DWM a couple of years ago:

Just to reiterate: India got an email, but as for Paul, y’know, the previously incumbent Doctor… not a sausage.

listen we can talk about it all day but there is absolutely no regeneration sequence in Doctor Who better than Seven regenerating into Eight paired with the “It’s ALIVE!” sequence from the original Frankenstein movie. We will never reach that peak again.
