I feel like if any game goes out of its way to always refer to a character with gender neutral terms & pronouns, then that character probably isn't "whatever gender the player wants them to be," they are probably just non-binary.
Vol. 204 of Nintendo Dream, page 79. Scan source here.
I went digging for an unsourced claim about the Subway Bosses being designed to look like clowns -- afaik that's a correct translation, but I cannot actually read Japanese & just have to kinda trust Google Translate (dubious) here. To see their other appearances in vol. 205, please check my other post.
Nintendo Dream vol. 205, pages 81-83, scans sourced from this website. Most of this is art I have seen before, but that topmost image on 82 is one I have never seen. None of these pages especially talk about Ingo nor Emmet -- page 81 is about a popularity poll that's being run, page 82 is about Yusuke Ohmura's entry into art, & page 83 is about character design in general. To see a bit of (untranslated) discussion on Ingo & Emmet's designs, please check my other post on their appearance in vol. 204.
I'm boy-pregnant & it's Snapple's.
Losing my mind courtesy of PokeSuutamie's character sheet translations from the art book. XX years ago implies double digits.
Version of that skeleton gif that's a minute long with a fast skeleton appearing at the end. Gif loops.
