Due to her originally starting out in Arizona, I feel like Apogee would totally find and share some pan dulce with her team. However that stops once Dynaguy gets dies and replaced.

I think these dynamics are kinda fun to explore and I’m probably gonna draw more of them in the future…
(PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD CLICK ON THIS FOR HIGH QUALITY TUMBLR HAS DESTROYED IT!!)
I’m finally posting a good, finished drawing of my Incredibles’ oc- Perspective Shot aka “Edelweiss ‘Eddie’ Richter”!!! I changed her last name because I like that better and it connects to another Incredibles Glory day Character… who I will not mention yet because I want to draw a photo of the duo bickering. Last name idea was taken from @foxworthy1… I really liked that and thought it made more sense than Plummer lol. She’s Phylange’s sidekick, who’s holding her up to the lock!!
Sketch + wip + no text version under the cut! + a little lore
I normally draw her in green which, if you hang out on my blog, have already seen a couple times! Both colors are canon to her story. Perspective starts out in a green suit when she’s a sidekick and when she comes into her own and starts being a super on her own (which is just months before the ban) she dons the color purple.
I tried to make the keyhole sorta look like a skull- which is trying to symbolize her death caused from being a super. If she stayed a sidekick, if she stayed being second, she wouldn’t have gone to Syndrome’s island.
I’m trying to write her out the best I can- but I’m struggling because I also really, really want to write the other characters that are already established in this universe.. I specifically gave Perspective to Phylange to deal with Dynaguy’s death- which he’s totally not over yet (in my rewrite he dies a lot before the ban). Perspective is terrified of being her own super and being in charge of her own fights- afraid she will hurt others more than who she’s fighting is. I feel like these two have personalities that would push each other to get better for the benefit of the other.
I’ll link the animation of this when I’m done, but I got sorta inspired to make an “oh my little soldier boy” animation meme from TikTik :]! Here’s the sketch that started it all + the digital version. It’s baby versions of the Phylange, Apogee, and Dynaguy when the Thrilling Three were first getting started- their adult features haven’t fully grown in. Phylange doesn’t have his chin fully, Apogee’s hair is still flapper short, and Dyna- who’s a bit older than the others is… he actually looks pretty much the same to how I pictured him.
Under the cut is a little something small about Phylange’s feelings after Dynaguy dies. It’s how I headcanon he processes someone he loves death. Also credit to @toxiion for the Dynaguy x Phylange ship- which is quickly becoming my fav. Another thing! I’m not a writer so please take this with a grain of salt.
First- I want to say that I headcanon The Phylange’s real name to be Erik Baird and Dynaguy to be Mike Rutherford. When I say those name- that’s who I’m referring to.
After Dynaguy dies I don’t think Erik gets the time to process. I’m not talking about *The Phylange*, I’m talking about the man behind the mask, the singer, the one who’s always make it a point to be by his friends side. The one who bursts into song while he drives and gossips to anyone who’d listen. The Phylange got to grieve, he put on a full display at his friend’s monument, sobbing his eyes out like Cosette with Jean Valjean. He got that chance to say goodbye, not Erik. Erik never got that chance to say goodbye and say how much he loved Mike. To sit there and watch his friend be buried.. his head off-kilter ever so.. those dynamic brown eyes that seemed to hold the world together closed.
After Dynaguy dies, he doesn’t have time to grieve the death of one of his closest allies. Erik has to immediately get back to being Phylange, to get back to being a singer. The great Erik Baird didn’t know Mike Rutherford, a thick-accented softer Canadian who moved to California for a reason he refused to talk about (the topic always seemed to change… Erik could never bully that outta him). Erik didn’t get to grieve someone he didn’t know. The Phylange gets a week of rest before a new hotshot gets assigned to the Thrilling Three, which doesn’t seem very thrilling anymore to him. The NSA’s golden boy Gazerbeam gets assigned and there’s talk of him also reviving Dynaguy’s gauntlets.. which both of the remaining members of the Three are against.
Gazerbeam can never be a replacement for their friend. He’s his own person.. he.. it was like the NSA was trying to make Gazerbeam Dynaguy2.0 no matter what they do.
Of course they’d break up, why wouldn’t they. After a few missions together Gazerbeam starts to overshadow Apogee and Phylange because of course he would. The public always loved him, he was their favorite. The break was somewhat amicable, all parties took what they had originally brought to the table however friendships were irreparably damaged. Phylange wouldn’t assign himself to another team after this. He didn’t want to get attached again like he did to Mi- Dynaguy. Dynaguy… Erik never knew no Mike Rutherford who had the most beautiful eyes he’d ever seen or the softest black hair he’d ever felt.
Soon after Dynaguy’s death, Super’s are banned. In a way, Phylange is almost happy that his friend died before the ban so he didn’t have to live through having a piece of yourself slowly suffer and die. He’s glad because the knows Dyna wouldn’t have been able to make it through this. Through loosing so many friends and family to this ban. After a show, he gets passed on a card from a fine looking lady saying she could use his help. A Super’s help.. maybe this is it.
