I havent posted in awhile...life got really busy there and I got away from writing! I have two beautiful children now, 4 and 1 and a half. They love each other SO much. They have their fair share of fights here and there, but for the most part they get along very well :).
In other recent news, this pandemic has really been crazy for our family and for everything! My dad was diagnosed with Covid at the beginning of March, which was very scary. He was actually over at our house just days before he found out his test was positive. It was a difficult couple of weeks after that wondering if he was going to be ok, if my mom was going to get sick, if we were going to get sick....thankfully he recovered well and none of us ended up getting the virus. Otherwise after that scare we have been lucky enough to not have any other close family diagnosed with Covid.
Our "new normal" looks a bit different now. The kids don't come to the store with me anymore, we have ordered more groceries for delivery than ever, and we talk to friends on the computer more than in person. Thankfully we have some wonderful neighbors that we have been seeing all along that also have young kids. Otherwise we may have all gone crazy!!
My job turned virtual and all communication with my therapy students turned to the phone, video, or email. That has been challenging because physical therapy is a bit difficult to deliver in these methods. The school that I work at has done the best it could to deal with this, but it's no substitute for in person therapy. I have learned a lot though and implemented a ton of new ideas and skills into my work though, so that's a positive!
Next time I am hoping to give some tips on motor milestones, what to look for, and some easy ways to work on motor tasks at home!
Stay safe everyone!
