my first experience with VR
Bro.....I just had my first experience with VR in my life
It was.....surreal
My dad let me test the waters with a simple shooting range
But even that was a damn near out of body experience
I could see my hands, I could see the gun I was holding, it was a Beretta 92, although I'm not well knowledged enough to know the exact model.
But yet, despite all the glaring visual cues, I could feel everything wasn't right.
My hand was holding something that didn't resemble the grip of the Beretta.
The trigger I pulled was not in any way like the trigger of the Beretta. I felt no recoil whatsoever, and my aim and shot placement was everywhere
It just fried my brain, in an amazing and surreal way
It was so fun, but so confusing and overwhelming too
Before I knew it, I just couldn't process what was going on and I had to take the headset off
I'm still on the comedown from that
tI always dreamed of being able to even see a VR headset IRL, let alone use one. Now that I actually have, it was a stimulus fever dream in the best and worst ways possible
It was a distinct and obvious disconnect from what I saw with my eyes and what I felt with my hands, and I don't know how long it will take me to get used to that
