Our Nicaragua program made a major accomplishment this summer of building a home from start to finish. . Our GIVE volunteers worked alongside the Jiquilillo community to build a home for Doña Socorro who had been waiting for a home for over 13 months. She is the mother of a family who lost their home due to rising sea levels. . Everyday, Doña Socorro showed up giving it her all and working alongside our volunteers. Our volunteers from beginning to end were really able to see what it takes to build a home. We put in long hours alongside Dona Socorro and the engineers to complete this project - without them we truly would have not accomplished any of this. Now this family is living full-time in this home! . Yes we built a house together, but more importantly this team built a sense of community. .
