Marla had always thought the best kind of adventure were the ones you found, be it in a book or out in the middle of the sea. She had worked for weeks to prepare a hidden adventure of her own. Out in the middle of the sea, there sat a boat. In this boat, there were two items, one an underwater breathing potion and the other a scuba diving suit. Whichever the adventurer chose, she hoped it would encourage them to jump in the water and investigate.
To keep the boat in place, and as a help to the poorer swimmers out there, Marla tied a rope to the bottom of the boat and swam it down all the way to the gate of her mansion, where she tied it with a bow.
The mermaid was giddy to see what kind of people would end up on her doorstep. So much so that she could barely stop giggling while she made this hidden invitation and spent most of the first week staring out her front window, waiting for an adventurer to show up.
