An Overwhelmed Chef | Odette & Lily

Odette was behind for the lunch rush. She had spent far too long at the dragon shrine today, getting caught up in making sure it was properly cleaned. No one wants to give offerings at a messy shrine! But unfortunately this had ruined her careful schedule for the day. 

If anyone were to enter the kitchen, they would see Odette cooking three different meals at the same time, flitting between stirring the soup on the stove, sauteing the vegetables in the pan, and filleting several freshly caught fish. All in all, a rather normal day, but she was working at a much more frantic pace, not taking the usual care to taste the dishes and make sure the seasoning was -just- right in her rush. She had half an hour, and by the native dragons themselves she was going to get the dishes done. She wasn’t going to keep her customers waiting!

Leia had never been musically inclined. Growing up around mermaids, she had been surrounded by singing. It seemed that the common trait among mermaids of having a beautiful voice had skipped Leia. It didn’t bother her as much as when she lived underwater, but every now and then she would wish that she could sing like a siren.

Occasionally, Leia would stop by Three Sisters’ Inn for breakfast. They had the fluffiest pancakes that she couldn’t get enough of. Then there was the atmosphere that reminded her of a home she never had. The owner of the inn would often grace the patrons’ ears with her angelic voice. Breakfast and a show! Who could ask for more?

There were three options for requesting a song. One song, three songs, or a musical. she was never really sure what the last option entailed. Would the beautiful ginger actually perform a whole musical? Leia had never seen anyone bold enough to ask. 

After being seated at a table for two, she ordered pancakes as usual and waited for Lily Brunel, the owner, to make her appearance. When the woman who instantly brightened up the room entered, Leia made her move. She approached Lily with her hands behind her back.

“Excuse me, Miss Brunel?”

•｡ ✧ Charming; a trait that Charles and the inn he was visiting appeared to share, albeit the latter of the two was distinct with its own irony. He initiated engagement with the business owners that resided on both of the islands in order to expand the operations and influence of Funland beyond the amusement park; whereas Alice was the beautiful face that represented Funland on the surface, Charles was the smooth talker who maneuvered behind the scenes to ensure the success of the company - a confident and chivalrous gentleman who relied on his attractive appearance and schmoozing personality to sweet talk people into his favor. When the two were inspecting both islands to consider broadening their horizons, the property where the Three Sisters Inn was located caught their eye - especially with the gorgeous view of the ocean, it would be in their best interest to see about... well... he wouldn’t go that far - not quite yet.

“Miss Brunel,” he spoke as soon as his silver eyes befell upon the woman at the front desk, closing the door gently behind him as he walked forward and adjusted his tie accordingly. “It is a pleasure to formally introduce myself in person after corresponding with you through mail. My name is Charles Kingsbury, representing The Funland Foundation while here on behalf of business with your exquisite inn.”

“Thank you for taking time out of your day to speak with me,” Charles bowed slightly with his hand across his chest - and a warm smile on his face, “How are you?”

Dearest Sister... || Lily & Violet

Violet wasn’t sure what to do.

She stood a bit rigid outside of Lily’s door, an overwhelmingly guilty look on her face. One of her hands was curled into a fist, outstretched towards the door, like she was going to knock. But she felt like she was stuck there. Violet had been planning on telling Lily, eventually. She was just...very nervous about several things. At first, Violet was worried that Ford would change his mind. Or that she dreamed the entire confession up (which the ring on her finger definitely helped alleviate). That Violet would tell Lily and Lily would be just as overbearing towards Ford as Violet felt she was for her.

But she hadn’t meant to keep it an entire secret from her older sister.

Violet sighed, lowering her hand back to her front. She remembered that look that Lily gave her at the dance. Her sister had been smiling...but Violet knew it was a fake look. It had to be. She could tell. 

And now here she was, right outside the door. She needed to tell Lily.

Violet finally took a deep breath, reaching back out to knock several times. And then, she waited.

When the door opened up, Violet put on a hesitant smile, looking up at her older sister.

“H-Hi Lily...” Violet greeted, “H-How are you...?”

Tea Thyme || Lily and Lanna

"Ugh, you've gotta be kidding me..." she mumbled to herself and tucked her phone back into her pocket.

Was no one available? It wasn't complicated or even taxing request. All she wanted was lunch with someone. How was everyone busy at the same time?! If Lanna didn't know any better, she would say they're avoiding her for reasons she couldn't explain. She was great! Who wouldn't want to hang out and grab lunch with her? Everyone had busy schedules she could understand that, but after the fifth time, someone had to be free.

Sadly, she sighed, walking along the path going to grab a bite to eat. Alone. She kicked some rocks and dirt in frustration. Well, at least no one was there to judge her on grabbing a large portion of lunch. As she was walking, she looked up to see a familiar face! Hurrah, she was saved from loneliness!

"Lily! Hello! Are you free?"

•｡ ✿ Dotting her I’s and crossing her T’s, and writing as elegantly as can be, Sofia was satisfied with her personalized baby shower invitations -- created with all of her love, for these people were family and friends close and dear to her heart. Especially so, she believed that they needed to be present on her special day in celebrating a new human being who she would quickly learn to love -- as if she had not already -- and cherish forever. She organized all of the letters by their recipient and neatly inserted them into their respective envelopes, entitled with the name of who will soon behold this piece of paper in their hands. Hopefully, the young woman thought, that everyone would be available -- given that life always throws its line at the most inopportune time. However, the sensation of tiny feet kicking against her belly stirred her, bringing an entranced simper to her face. ‘Soon. ♡’

“ Her time grows near A precious baby girl is almost here! You’re invited to join us ( with a +1! ) as we honor our child whose name will be shared on this special day! ღ ”

◤ Sebastian has a perfectly good reason for being in a jewelry store. ◢

◤ No he doesn’t, he just came in here to see what shit’s available. He’s starting to regret his choice, though, because all of it seems a little too feminine for his taste. Maybe he can explain himself to whomever’s around-- I’m looking for something to get my mom. Do people get their moms jewelry? Hell, his alibi is falling apart before he’s even gotten a chance to use it. ◢

◤ Time to forget his grave error-- but he always feels bad for leaving a store without doing anything because now he’s fucking loaded with cash. What can entertain him for a little longer... a familiar face? ◢   

◤ “Lily, right? I escorted you like a gentleman...?” Hopefully he’s got this right, or else he’s screwed and this woman is going to look at him weird and he’s going to void himself right into the ocean. “You work here?” ◢

Taste vs Tact || Leon & Lily

The light-haired man walked along Leudan roads, finding himself finally place he’d been longing to check out; the jeweler’s. After all, they must have something that fit his taste there, even if it was a different era. Jewelry tended to be one of those things that spoke through the ages, anyway.

When he walked in, he found a long-haired woman at the counter; Leon honestly couldn’t tell by the expression on her face if she was bored, busy contemplating about something or just...out of it.

“Ahem.” Leon over-exaggeratedly cleared his throat, smirking a bit. “I’ll take it you’re the lady with the good taste, right?” He said, putting a hand on his hip. “What goes best with ivory clothing? You’ve got ten seconds, go.” He said with a mischievous smile on his face.
