Franz Liszt (Hungarian, 1811-1886), seated, playing piano duet with violinist Arma Senkrah (American, 1865-1900) (c.1885). Library of Congress.
In 1885 at age 21, Senkrah met Liszt and was welcomed into his circle of friends and professional colleagues. Senkrah and Liszt played Beethoven’s Kreutzer Sonata (and some of Liszt’s music transcribed for violin and piano) on July 20, 1885. Several sources say that Liszt was very fond of her and that they gave many public concerts together. Her handling of the violin was then described as “incomparable.”

Harder to play than I thought it would be. I'll need to practice it a bit more then 'set fire to the rain'. Certainly if I want to sing and play it at the same time..
