The 7th hole used to have bunkers front left and right, which framed the green nicely, giving players a range to aim within. Now, with the bunkers grassed in, it's a much more undefined look at a blind green. These cool summer nights are plain made for golf. I can get the kids toward bed and still have enough time to walk 9 holes comfortably, even carrying my golf bag. Four or five holes of playing practice was just what the (swing) doctor ordered to cap off the week. I get the same feeling on an empty golf course at dusk that I used to get on an empty pond or lake at sundown as a kid: peacefulness. Minimal distractions save for the birds and critters that call the course home.
