Went on another hike yesterday!
June 29: Picklejar Lakes hike - much fewer mosquitoes than the first time I did it (read: no mosquitoes 😁) and beautiful views as usual. I especially loved the abundance of colourful wildflowers at one section of the hike - what a perfect season to be out and about!
Labor Day hike : Pickle Jar Lakes. It had been a rainy weekend, as usual...but after a couple days of being all wined-out, J and I told ourselves that we really have to do something active for the long weekend. So glad we pushed ourselves to get out there in spite of the heavy downpour we experienced on our way out to Kananaskis.
It turned out so be such an AWESOME day for hiking. We did the Pickle Jar Lakes trail, 10.3 kilometres roundtrip - great distance but we did not mind the inclines that much, compared to the last hike we had.
The trail has a great variety of forest and clearings- the breeze felt extremely nice every once in a while.
We were supposed to see three lakes in total for the whole hike - but I think we only saw two?! lol. Regardless, we’re amazed of the stunning views, the great weather, and even greater company.
With the hiking season almost coming to a close, J and I are really wanting to get as much hike in as we possibly can- hoping we can still accomplish 10 trails this summer before we put away our hiking boots !
