04/23/2019 - Just had perhaps my most dominant offensive performance in my history of playing pickup basketball

Scored my team's first 9 points, and 9 of our 10 total points

Granted, we lost 16-10 but that's not important! It's not like basketball is a team game or anything lol

Update for 09/09/2018

Well today was hot garbage and a total anomaly

After coming off my arguably my worst offensive day of basketball, I had one of my best. In all three games, I scored in the double-digits which normally happens about once a year since we only play to 16.

Yet, we still lost all three games.

Helps me realize a bit of the pointlessness of keeping track of W-L records when basketball is a team game and I can only affect the result so much. But fuck it, already did it for 22 games so gonna keep it going and keep adding to that W column

Had my worst offensive outing in a minute. Blew multiple easy layups and none of my jumpers were close

I’m gonna blame the fact that the shirt I wore was too tight. Probably cut off my circulation too much or some shit...yeah it’s probably that.

4 games played today. 3 wins, 1 loss. Several blown layups, but one nice game-winning three

Update for 8/29/18

One pickup game today

Yesterday it was a struggle for me just to leave bed because my legs were being uncooperative so only one game tonight was fair

1 game played. 0 wins, 1 loss. 5-on-5 full-court to 16. We were hot garbage. I was useless on offense. But I did get 2 blocks which is shocking because normally I get 2 blocks in one calendar year so yay defense

But that still brings my total record down to 8 wins and 6 losses.

Finally got back into lifting tonight though. Gonna start including my lifting updates into these as well because I’m trying to hit some goals (namely 225 in bench and 300+ in deadlift and squat). Nowhere close to that at the moment though. Two months ago, I hit a new personal best by getting to 220 pounds in benchpress...and then I plateaued at that weight for weeks and gave up for a couple months. Then I went back today and only put up 165 lbs. Couldn’t even put up 1 rep of 185. Hopefully by the end of the week I will be able to. Gotta be great though.

Pickup Basketball Stats - 08/28/2018 (and before)

As stated earlier, I meant to start this earlier but got lazy and forgot but so far have 4 days worth of pickup to update my running record on:

08/23/18 - 3 games played - 3 wins, 0 losses

08/24/18 - 1 game played - 0 wins, 1 loss

08/26/18 - 4 games played - 2 wins, 2 losses

08/27/18 - 5 games played - 3 wins, 2 losses

So as of tonight (2 am on August 28th, 2018), my total pickup game record at NC State is 8 wins and 5 losses.

All games go to 16 points (1s and 2s) out here, which I appreciate. Had one of the greatest offensive performances of my pickup career earlier today as I knocked down three 2-pointers (which is a 3 pointer in regular basketball) en route to 8 points, scoring half of my team’s points. As a defensive-minded player, I see this as my likely zenith of offensive output.

So yeah, there’s the first update. I’ll keep it running as time goes and hopefully stay above 0.500. And do other blog things too so y’all aren’t too bored to tears.
