Picnic At Hanging Rock (1975)

On Valentine's Day, 1905 at Appleyard College. The students are assigned to go to Hanging Rock as an excursion/picnic. An exchange student; Sarah, however can not go. Miranda proposed the idea to the group asking if they could go on the rock. Marion, Irma and Edith are going. Edith is a stubborn, whiny character who always complains. The three girls, being nice, accept her offer to go. As they explore the rock, they realize that it is utterly beautiful up close, as they travel through the far bits, they fall asleep. Edith is the first one to awake, seeing the girls get up, unbothered and seems like they are possessed by the rock. I thought the visuals were absolutely beautiful and that it seemed like a sofia coppola film and just felt like girlhood. Anne Louise Lambert does such a great job in portraying Miranda.
